(Sutter Creek) Amador Water Agency District 4 Director Susan Peters has been elected to the Mountain Counties Water Resources Association (MCWRA) Board of Directors. AWA is a member of the regional association formed to promote the importance of Sierra Nevada water resources.
Peters joins the MCWRA Board consisting of six elected water board members and three county supervisors, covering Amador, Alpine, Calaveras, El Dorado, Mariposa, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sierra, Tuolumne, and Yuba Counties. Directors represent the membership-at-large in a regional capacity, not a specific entity.
“I’m excited about serving on the MCWRA board,” said Peters. “The Mokelumne River is the source of water for most Amador Water Agency customers, so stewardship of the river’s watershed is important to everyone in Amador County.”
MCWRA strives to be the premiere advocate to influence water policy and the protection of the Sierra Nevada watershed through leadership, advocacy, collaboration, and education.
