The Amador Water Agency (AWA) will be constructing the Central Amador Water Project (CAWP) Pioneer Water Rehabilitation Pipeline Project (Project). The Project is being funded through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Project Location: The Project is located in the Pioneer community area, located approximately 12 miles northeast of the City of Jackson near State Route (SR) 88, and spans a distance of approximately one mile, beginning along Buckhorn Ridge Road near Jeffrey Lane and proceeding southwest towards the intersection of Carson Drive and Meadow Crest Drive.
Project Description: The Amador Water Agency (AWA) is constructing the pipeline in order to increase fire flow, provide a looped water system, and improve the distribution system reliability in the lower Buckhorn Ridge, and Carson Drive areas of the CAWP water system. New construction of facilities include installation of approximately one mile of buried 12-inch potable water gravity-flow pipeline.
Construction would be entirely in existing road and utility easements and Amador County right-of-way (existing paved roads or shoulders of Buckhorn Ridge Road, Pioneer Creek Road, and Carson Drive). The existing pavement or ground will be restored to equal or better than the previous condition. The project will include trench excavation, piping, and paving. Weather permitting, construction will begin March 27, 2017 and is expected to be complete in July, 2017.
There may be occasional traffic delays on lower Buckhorn Ridge Road, Pioneer Creek Road and Carson Drive, however upper Buckhorn Ridge Road will be available as an alternate route.
Thank you for your patience while we work to improve your water system. lf you have any questions about this project, or concerns during construction, please call me at (209) 257-5206 AWA Resident Engineer, Amador Water Agency
