Update 5/9/19 from the Planned Shut Down- Ione

All water quality samples came back clear. The boil advisory is being lifted.

The Shutdown went better than expected and the AWA crews were able to restore water service ahead of schedule. Water quality samples are going to the lab this morning. This is a reminder to those on Welsh Lane, Tregaskis Lane, and small section of Preston Ave are on a Boil Advisory until we receive the lab results back from the lab. Address for the boil are listed below.

The Amador Water Agency is scheduling a shutdown of the water system on Tuesday, May 7. 2019 from the hours of 9:00pm- 5:00am. This nighttime work is necessary for system improvements.

As an Agency we value our customers and local businesses and have scheduled this work to be performed at night in order to be less impactful. With that said you may experience lower than normal water pressure during the hours of 9:00 pm to 5:00 am

The area of Welsh Lane, Tregaskis Lane, and a small section of Preston Avenue will need to go on a boil advisory as you may be out of water during this time. These addresses are: 4 and 12 on Plymouth Hwy, 307, 310, 318, 330, 338 and 349 Preston Ave, 15 and 19 Tregaskis Lane, as well as 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 23, and 24, on Welch Lane. We ask that you boil your water or use bottled water until water quality samples come back clear.

Water quality samples will be taken as we do for all repair work. The chances of water contamination are remote, and AWA will not take any chances with your family’s health. AWA takes protection of public’s health as our foremost responsibility. In most cases, issuing a boil water notice is a precautionary measure for the safety of our customers.

Once the water system is fully charged and back online you may experience air in the lines, discolored or cloudy water. This is normal. We ask that you open your taps and flush the line.

All information on boil water notices is posted to our website during an event.
