Plymouth Roundabout Project

Plymouth Roundabout Project

On the night of August 22nd, Agency Operations staff assisted the City of Plymouth contractors George Reed, Inc. and Mozingo Construction with the successful intertie of approximately 300 feet of brand new 12” C-900 water main with the existing 12” water main.

A very large portion of the City was cut off from the main treated water supply into town therefore Agency Regulatory Compliance Staff worked with the City to Place affected customers under a boil water notice while the work occurred. Agency crews worked with the Amador Fire Protection District and the City of Ione Fire Department to provide water through fire hydrants and fire hose to affected areas so that people could still use water to bathe, water their gardens, etc.

All in all, the shutdown lasted 13 hours and all water quality samples taken once the pipelines were recharged were absent of bacteriologic content. This new pipeline improves the City of Plymouth’s water supply infrastructure age and reliability
