Due to Friday night’s line break, the contractor was able to complete the tie in during the repair work and it is no longer necessary to continue with the scheduled shut down.
Beginning at 9:00 PM on Sunday, April 29, 2018 as part of the Sutter Creek Bridge Project, your water service will be interrupted to facilitate the installation of new water main valves. This shutdown should be completed by 5:00 am Monday morning. A private contractor will be completing the work.
Once the shutdown is complete and the water supply is turned back on, the Division of Drinking Water requires us to take water quality samples to ensure it is safe to drink. This testing takes 18 hours from the time the samples reach the lab. During that time you will be required to boil any water you plan on consuming (or use bottled water) until sample results come back and we notify you that the water is safe to drink.
There are twelve (12) customers affected by this shut down. Those addresses on Main Street that will have an interruption of water service include: 5, 33A, 33B, 33C, 35, 39, 41, 43A, 43B, 45, 47, and 49 Main Street. If you did not receive this letter and door tag then you will not be included in this shut down.
We understand the inconvenience to you, your family, and your business and we greatly appreciate your cooperation. The benefits of the Sutter Creek Bridge Project will far outweigh the inconvenience once completed. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at 209-223-3018, or check out our website at www.amadorwater.org and our Amador Water Agency Facebook page for updates during and after the shutdown.
